Plymouth MI, April 18, 2024 - The 44th DCEA International Automotive Conference was hold in Plymouth Manor on April 18. One hundred technical or business experts from different companies joined this event. The theme of this year is “Advances & Challenges of the Auto Industry”. The event brought together key players from automotive giants, technology firms, and academia to delve into the future of sustainable transportation.
We have the honor to invite multiple keynote speakers this year. Bob Holycross, Vice President and Chief SES Officer at Ford Motor Company, delivered a captivating keynote speech titled "The Road to Better." Holycross outlined Ford's vision for a sustainable future, emphasizing the pivotal role of electrification in driving positive change within the automotive industry. Dr. Perry Gu, Chief Scientist, and Mr. Ben Wei, Senior Chief Engineer from Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd., shed light on the intricate challenges and innovative strategies driving vehicle electrification. Their presentation explored the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and vehicle performance optimization, offering insights into the future of automotive technology. Tim DeBastos, Head of NA Battery Development at LG Energy Solution, provided a comprehensive overview of the current state of energy solutions. Dr. Bruce Hu, Global Engineering Director at Farasis Energy USA, unveiled cutting-edge developments in battery thermal management for electric vehicles by reduced order modeling and predictive control. Prof. Shengbo Eben Li, Dean of Vehicle & Mobility School at Tsinghua University, delivered a thought-provoking presentation via Zoom, exploring the potential of learning-based decision and control systems for high-level self-driving intelligence.
The conference concluded with expressions of gratitude to all speakers, sponsors, and attendees for their contributions. Participants left the event inspired and energized, ready to drive change in the electrification landscape.
