2005 DCEA Future Engineer Scholarship Awards
Detroit Chinese Engineers Association (DCEA)’s 2005 Future Engineer Scholarship awards go to Yibo Ling of the University of Michigan, son of Tim Ling and Helen Xu, and Shuonan Dong of MIT, daughter of Yu Dong and Fengzhuo Hu. Each recipient will also receive $500 monetary award, sponsored by Ford Motor Company and Reliable Analysis, Inc.
Mr. Yibo Ling is a senior in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. Although he is an undergraduate student, he has been a Research Assistant at UM’s Micro/Nano/Molecular Biotechnology lab since his sophomore year. Recently, he has been accepted as a candidate in a combined Ph.D. program of Harvard and MIT (Health Science Technology - HST), which is the top Ph.D. program in bio-medical engineering field in USA.
Ms. Shuanan Dong is a senior in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In addition to her outstanding academic performance, she has served as president, vice president and treasurer of the MIT Mars Society and has coauthored two technical papers. She has a dream to “Go to Mars”.
The award ceremonies will be held during the annual DCEA Spring Automotive Technology Conference on April 10, 2005 at the Lawrence Technological University (refer to www.detroitengineer.org for detail).
